David Rogers wasn’t born in Texas, but he got here as fast as he could.
His schooling reads like a road trip: kindergarten at a Montessori on Hollywood Blvd, first grade in Ann Arbor, Michigan (where he discovered snow, true story!), and then Texas at last, starting second grade at Maplewood Elementary. From there it was O. Henry Junior High, Austin High, the University of Houston-Downtown, the University of Southern California, and finally Texas Tech University Law School.
Along the way he met and married his beautiful wife, Lisa, and the two of them settled in Pflugerville, in the same house their kids have lived in since the day they came home from the hospital.
A history of showing up
In 2004, David joined the winning effort by Pflugerville Pfamilies Pfirst to stop a horse-race track from being built in eastern Pflugerville. In the years that followed, he backed the successful PPP council candidates, including Mark Gladney and Victor Gonzales, the first Black and Hispanic members of the Pflugerville City Council.
From 2006 to 2008 he served on the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC), where he cast the tie-breaking vote to buy the land at Pecan Street and Toll Road 130, now home to the Courtyard by Marriott, Community Impact, and a host of businesses that have made Pflugerville home.
After the PCDC, he served longer than anyone else on the Pflugerville Board of Adjustment, long enough to be called the “dean” of the board by then councilman Gonzales.
The home team
His three kids are a firefighter / paramedic, a college cheerleader and pilot student, and a Pflugerville High School senior. Lisa is a former PfISD teacher, an international traveler, and a lover of languages and science.
David himself enjoys high-school Pfootball, movies, history, science, economics, and the never-ending battle against the obnoxious weeds in his yard. His hero is Winston Churchill; his role model is Mitch Poe.

David has worked for the Texas Supreme Court and the Hazen & Terrill law firm, and founded his own independent practice, where he stands up for citizens, homeowners, and small businesses against government, banks, insurance companies, HOAs, and assorted troublemakers.

A lifetime of service to Pflugerville
From the ballfields to the pews to City Hall, David shows up for the groups that make this a hometown.
Over the years David has given his time to 4-H, Girl Scouts, the Lions Club, the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Pflugerville Pfusion, Pflugerville Cheer, Pflugerville Track and Field, Slice of Pflugerville, We Are Blood, Blue Santa, and Deutschen Pfest.
